Senior Counsel - Litigation

Senior Counsel - Litigation The candidate will be responsible to lead, manage and support a portfolio of significant and complex litigation, arbitration, and/or pre-litigation disputes on behalf of firm. Help set overall litigation and dispute resolution strategy for the company working with the VP, Litigation and other members of the Corporate Litigation Group. Work closely with senior level leaders in Corporate and the businesses providing legal guidance and counsel on a variety of matters. Utilize early dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution and preventative lawyer ing to reduce the number and cost of lawsuits. Partner with global business, compliance and regulatory teams to lead legal policy initiatives and to improve management of legal and operational risk. Manage outside counsel and other vendors to provide legal services in a cost-effective manner within budgetary expectations. Work with the VP, Litigation, Corporate Litigation Group, Chief Investigative and Anti-Corruption Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer on strategy for significant compliance and investigation projects, and handling those matters where appropriate. The candidate must be a Juris Doctorate, with a strong record, from an accredited law school. Member in good standing of a U.S. state or equivalent international Bar is essential. 6+ years of legal experience in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies and/or judicial clerkship with extensive experience in complex litigation, arbitration and mediation is essential. Proven experience in quickly and accurately analyzing legal issues, developing and deploying litigation tactics, and setting overall case strategy is preferred. Proven experience / ability to make early case assessments, lay out the defense or prosecution of a matter and then execute on that plan with periodic reassessment and modifications made as necessary is desired.
