Mediabrands Data & Technology - Attorney Duties: Draft, review, negotiate and update a wide variety of contracts, including client and supplier agreements, media placement/publisher agreements, confidentiality, consulting, software/platform technology and data/intellectual property licenses. Provide legal counsel on an ongoing basis concerning marketing in traditional and new media, including issues related to online behavioral targeting and other forms of precision marketing. Educate, advise, and counsel management on legal issues affecting business decisions. Manage and update templates. Manage expectations for delivery of redlines through to final contract execution. Manage & help prioritize queue of legal agreements. Identify opportunities to standardize contract terms that are consistent across multiple agreements and agencies. Review and update internal business processes and policies on an ongoing basis. Provide periodic training to business units on key contracting and legal issues affecting data and analytics and digital businesses. Qualifications: JD degree from an ABA accredited law school. 5+ years of relevant experience. Admitted to practice and in good standing in New York and/or California(or if admitted to practice and in good standing in another State, the ability to qualify immediately for In-House Counsel Registration in New York or California). Experience drafting, negotiating and managing commercial transactions including marketing, media, and technology deals, to support its data, technology and digital media business. Will require review, drafting and negotiation of agreements relating to advertising and marketing services, with a heavy emphasis on data and technology agreements including data licenses, and contracts related to programmatic/automated digital media buying. Experience with emerging technologies as well as strong analytical, operational, communication and organizational skills are a must. Familiarity with business and legal concepts critical to digital media and ad tech in areas including ad ops, brand safety, privacy, and data is also required. Familiarity with global business practices and experience with and interest in domestic and international privacy law (e.g., GDPR) is a plus. Excellent writing, oral communication, analytical, time-management and organizational skills. Significant contract negotiation and drafting experience. Proven ability to use strategic thinking and excellent judgment, including capacity to understand business objectives and advise business partners on applicable risks/rewards. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Results-oriented with outstanding attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, challenging, and constantly changing environment. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Proven ability to manage high volume of competing priorities simultaneously. Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other software commonly used in the legal and advertising industries.
