In-House Labor and Employment Counsel The candidate will advise internal clients on the full range of employment and labor law issues, including hiring, leave and accommodation, discipline, termination, wage and hour compliance, and compensation. Will manage labor and employment claims, arbitrations, and litigation including oversight and management of outside counsel. Review and provide guidance on drafting, developing, and enforcement of employment and HR-related policies and procedures. Counsel Human Relations, Labor, and all levels of operations management on handling employee relations matters, including employee discipline and investigations. Review and respond to pre-litigation employment and labor claims. Draft and review employment documents including severance agreements, retention agreements, offer letters, and repayment agreements. Serve as subject matter expert for OFCCP audits, WARN, and state paid leave laws. Proactively identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advise the business accordingly. Prepare and present training on employment and labor issues. Identify and implement internal processes to increase efficiency using technology and otherwise.

The candidate should have JD degree from an accredited law school. Must have 3-7 years of relevant experience practicing employment and labor law. Must have demonstrated success developing relationships with clients and providing effective advice. Experience representing clients in matters involving employment and labor statutes enforced by federal, state, and local agencies is required. Experience proactively developing and implementing preventative employment and labor strategies needed. Must have excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills. Must be Admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one state.
