Corporate Counsel The candidate will serve as in-house corporate counsel as a state regulatory specialist and as a legal generalist. Key responsibilities include drafting and/or reviewing a large number of petitions, motions, and briefs, managing responses to discovery in administrative proceedings, assisting internal clients on regulatory-related legal questions and disputes, assisting in responding to subpoenas and notices from agencies, and assisting internal clients with time-sensitive legal questions across a wide variety of matters in multiple jurisdictions. Ensure all actions are consistent with company's values, mission, and strategic business objectives. Assist internal clients in preparing and litigating rate cases and other matters before state utility regulatory agencies. Assist internal clients in responding to subpoenas, discovery requests, and other legal processes involving state utility regulatory agencies. Back up other in-house counsel and take on primary responsibility for certain areas of law, based on experience. Perform special assignments and other duties as requested by the General Counsel or other Corporate Counsel. Must be a member of the State Bar of Montana, able to be admitted as a member on motion, or must take and pass the Montana Bar. Should have 5+ years of experience and able to independently handle numerous, discrete matters. Relevant experience includes practicing law at a regulated utility, a state utility regulatory agency, or as outside counsel appearing before a state utility regulatory agency. Experience as a litigation attorney is also relevant. Experience with the Montana Public Service Commission or the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission is a plus. Public utilities or litigation experience a plus. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word. Experience with SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint is a plus. Deadline : 28 May 2019.
