Senior Counsel-Entertainment The candidate will draft and negotiate television entertainment agreements and be responsible for handling production-related legal issues for television programming for firm Entertainment, which includes our studios, Universal Television and Universal Television Alternative Studios, and our broadcast network, firm. Will advise clients on intellectual property, defamation, privacy, contract, clearance, rights-related and regulatory issues, as well as other issues arising out of programming. Draft, review, negotiate and interpret contracts and other documentation. Provide timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues, and propose practical, responsive solutions. Vet content, scripts, activity outlines, and series/challenge rules. Partner with firm business executives, as well as colleagues in the Law Department, to discuss and implement best practices and formulate new processes in connection with business needs. Create and update forms. Work Sr. Counsel, firm Entertainment.
The candidate must be member of California Bar, or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel. Must have 6+ years of entertainment, intellectual property, corporate transactions, litigation, privacy, defamation and/or other relevant subject matter expertise. Law firm experience highly desired.
