Counsel Trade Compliance The candidate will assist on full range of global trade activities, but will primarily involve legal advice as it relates to the Companys global trade compliance program thus trade compliance experience is required. Will help maintain and support the Companys global efforts so that it adheres to all applicable trade regulations. Undertake a wide range of responsibilities, primarily interpretation and application of US export and sanctions laws and business counseling regarding global trade issues. Also expected to have experience and understanding of non-US global trade regulations. Should have Juris Doctorate degree from a top law school and 6+ years of related experience. Must have in-house legal experience in export, sanctions and/or ATF compliance and extensive experience in the analysis, interpretation and application of export control laws and regulations. Must have direct knowledge of U.S. export regulations including experience in their business application and the preparing or reviewing of export authorizations, advisory opinions, commodity and jurisdiction requests, and voluntary disclosures. Must have direct knowledge of and experience in conducting export compliance due diligence for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Understanding of the relationships between DDTC, BIS, DoD, OFAC, ATF and other government agencies responsible for or playing a key role in export control laws and regulations is required. Must be Member in good standing of a state Bar. Must have familiarity with work in a global context including comprehension and application of non-US trade regulation. Experience with business transactions is preferred. Experience working for a multinational company or representation of a multinational company is preferred. Experience working for a USG agency responsible for export controls and/or sanctions laws and regulations is preferred. Experience working in a law firm is preferred.
