Corporate Counsel, IP The candidate will oversee preparation and prosecution of patent applications; assist in the management of the companys IP portfolio; review preliminary patent and literature searches and analyze patent search results relative to products in support of patentability and infringement analyses; and assist in the review of third-party patents. Will oversee, review and draft all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent application preparation and prosecution docket. Advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to IP processes and other projects. Advise globally on confidentiality agreements and oversee execution and management process. Review and analyze patent and application search results. Facilitate and track the clearance of all potential new products in development. Develop and implement processes for complying with inventor remuneration requirements, globally. Support leadership in developing IP strategy and execution. Research and advise on IP, commercial and other legal issues, including IP provisions in agreements, as needed. Provide advice with respect to issues and claims that may arise in the course of patent process. Develop training modules, presentations and other material on legal issues of importance to internal stakeholders and provide such information and training upon request. Propose, organize, manage and complete department projects either individually or as a member of a team. Provide legal support to the business in other substantive areas of law as needed. Manage internal and external counsel and patent agents. Perform other duties as may be assigned as appropriate. The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and a Juris Doctor degree. Must be a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney. Admitted to one State Bar; and eligible for admission to the Pennsylvania Bar. Should preferably have 8+ years of relevant experience and 5+ years of which were practicing as an attorney in a law firm; experience working as patent examiner. Proficiency with MS Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with MS team tools and IP portfolio management and analysis software, such as Anaqua, is a plus. Excellent oral and written communications are essential.
