Employment Counsel The candidate will advise the People & Culture team and the entire company on a variety of employment-related issues. Will provide practical and thoughtful legal advice in a wide range of areas, including human resources, recruiting, employee relations, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, employee and human resource policies, immigration and hiring best practices. Develop, implement, and advise on employment handbooks, policies and procedures. Support the People & Culture team on complicated hires, employee terminations, performance management, compensation, investigations, accommodations, reorganizations, and other employment-related matters. Manage and drive strategy on pre-litigation and litigation matters. Manage outside counsel and act as liaison to business teams on immigration, investigations, litigation and other employment related matters. Advise on diversity & inclusion programs; compensation issues, employee benefits, and contingent workforce challenges. Conduct manager and human resources training. Negotiate the agreements the People & Culture team needs to support our employees such as HR and benefit management services, employee wellness and workplace culture activities. Draft and revise offer letters, separation agreements, and other employment-related documents. Develop creative approaches to managing legal risks and resolving disputes. Should have a J.D. degree from a top law school and be admitted to the Bar. Must have 5+ years of experience handling employment and human resources issues, preferably both in-house and at a law firm. Experience with California employment law is required. Experience with international issues (particularly Ireland) is a plus. Experience providing legal training and guidance to human resources and recruiting teams is needed. Experience in conducting employment-related investigations and litigation is essential. Experience with immigration process and on boarding employees a must.
