Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property The candidate will work collaboratively across the legal department and across all areas of the Company to achieve Seagates business objectives. Assist in handling patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and domain name matters including developing IP strategy, counseling and training clients, managing patent prosecution, and supporting IP litigation and M&A activities. Specific to this position your duties will include: Managing portions of the Seagates patent and trade secret portfolio; Managing invention generation via facilitated focused invention sessions, brainstorms, and strategic IP harvests; Managing the review of invention disclosures and coordinating portfolio review and formulating business-specific IP strategies; Supervising outside counsel in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications both domestically and internationally; Performing and managing IP analysis and landscape projects and delivering results and advice to internal clients; Counsel internal clients regarding IP matters including integrating IP considerations into business plans, enterprise IP risk management and mitigation strategies, and strategies for enhancing the scope and strength of the IP portfolio; Collaborating within legal to ensure IP issues are appropriately managed; Helping prepare and present IP-related client training and Managing the associated budget. Must have solid patent drafting experience coupled with a passion for intellectual property law. Legal experience in a range of IP matters, to include patent preparation and prosecution, patent portfolio management, client counseling, and/or IP analysis is required. USPTO Registration is required.
