Privacy Attorney The candidate will plan, design, develop, implement, maintain, and ensure adherence to a comprehensive global privacy program. Work as part of the Privacy team with day-to-day privacy and data protection matters in North America (US and Canada). The attorney will also work on global privacy matters and initiatives as necessary. This position has day-to-day responsibilities in North America that include: Contract review including data transfer, data processing agreements, and other commercial language as needed. Conducting Privacy Impact Assessment reviews;Conducting internal and third-party privacy and compliance reviews and tracking and supporting remediation activities; Maintaining Privacy Shield certification for organization and all subsidiaries; Updating privacy notices and policies to comply with changing laws;Counseling on and drafting product disclaimers, consent forms, and other public facing documents to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws; Monitoring and responding to the privacy requests for the inbox; Maintaining our internal privacy intranet page; Providing support on the monitoring of changing data protection and data governance laws and regulations on a global basis; Providing privacy and compliance training and raising awareness of key privacy concepts; Supporting security team on data security issues and analyzing security events for privacy purposes; Working with various internal corporate teams, including our data governance team, on data protection compliance matters; Support our Information Governance program;Provide strategic and tactical support for all compliance related programs and initiatives including: anti-corruption, lobbying compliance, export controls, fraud and anti-money laundering; compliance investigations; record management; assisting with compliance and privacy reviews of business units, international markets and partners, and preparation and presentation of training programs.

The candidate should have J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law required. CIPP/US, CIPP/C, or CIPP/EU a plus. Should have 3-5 years of legal, and 1-2 years of privacy and compliance-related, experience, preferably with in-house experience and experience for a multi-national public company. Should have Knowledge and subject matter command of U.S. state, federal and international privacy laws, regulations and industry standards. Should have Knowledge of key privacy regulations such as GDPR, PIPEDA, and CCPA. Should be able to engage business colleagues and leaders at all levels, and work with cross-organizational stakeholders and decision makers with different geographical and operational responsibilities to achieve effective and desired outcomes. Proven track record of creative problem solving, building consensus, forging coalitions and leveraging professional relationships to achieve strategic objectives and to create an effective culture of compliance while also providing practical advice. Able to support the design and implementation of programs to support organization and promote our Privacy-By-Design program objectives.
