Senior Counsel, Litigation

Senior Counsel, Litigation The candidate will provide responsibilities include: Working collaboratively with the Universal Parks and Resorts legal team to analyze claims and formulate litigation and early case resolution strategy. Conducting investigations in connection with litigation and compliance matters. Legal research. Drafting legal papers, including pleadings, briefs, declarations, discovery demands and responses. Handling or assisting with court proceedings (including federal and state court appearances), arbitration, mediation, and depositions. Advising business clients on strength of claims and defenses, dispute avoidance and resolution. Responding to third-party subpoenas. Managing and working collaboratively with outside counsel, as needed. Managing and supervising e-discovery. Reporting and responding to SVP, Litigation and working closely with colleagues globally including other senior in-house litigators, the compliance team and lawyers in other practice groups on a broad variety of litigation and risk issues.

The candidate must have JD Degree and Florida Bar Admission (or willingness to pursue Florida admission immediately upon hiring). Must have 7+ years litigation experience. Must have strong research and writing skills. Must have strong communication and oral presentation skills. Must be willing to work in Orlando, FL. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Must be covered by Solutions, NBCUs Alternative Dispute Resolution Program. Strong academic record; journal experience is a plus. Must have experience at a nationally recognized law firm or major media company. Must have experience in commercial, employment, media, entertainment and/or intellectual property litigation, and conducting investigations. Must have ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Must have ability to work effectively under pressure; managing multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines. Must have excellent communication skills. Must have excellent negotiating skills.
