In House Employment Counsel Duties: Provide practical and business-oriented legal advice and counseling on a range of employment issues, including: hiring, performance management, employee relations, terminations, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, internal investigations, compensation, benefits, and privacy. Develop, draft and implement a variety of workplace policies, employee training and employment-related templates and agreements in collaboration with Human Resources and other functions as appropriate. Investigate and respond to federal and state administrative complaints (including EEOC charges). Oversee, direct and provide employment advice with respect to internal investigations. Investigate, negotiate and resolve pre-litigation claims and administrative charges, and serve as subject matter expert for employment litigation matters. Collaborate with local counsel to advise Human Resources and management on international employment issues. Advise Human Resources and management to ensure compliance with U.S. federal executive orders and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations. Manage employment related litigation, including responding to attorney demand letters, effectively negotiating resolution of claims, and making recommendations to Human Resources and senior management on corrective action. Actively monitor employment law changes, to ensure policies and practices are compliant.
Qualifications:JD degree from an accredited law school. Bar admission in the US. Min 10 years experience in employment law, or in a combination of employment and benefits law. Should preferably have Hands on experience representing clients before employment administrative agencies and/or state and federal courts. Top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience in a public company preferred, but not required. Possess strong client-relations and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent judgment and superior written and oral communication and analytical skills.
