Senior Counsel, Commercial and Compliance

Senior Counsel, Commercial and Compliance The candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice, counsel and related services to firm's business units. Responsible for providing Legal advice, counsel and services to domestic and international businesses in support of customer, vendor, supplier, and strategic relationships, including drafting and negotiating contracts, participating in and providing input on business strategy and legal risks, receiving and referring matters to Regulatory and Compliance Departments subject matter experts and managing those matters to conclusion, and otherwise acting as primary day-to-day legal contacts for business clients. Will be responsible for implementing all elements of firms Compliance program. Compliance drafts, amends, and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and firm's high ethical standards. The candidate must have J.D. with a record of strong academic achievement. Should have License to practice law in Ohio or active bar license in another state. Must have 6-8 years in related field, preferred in a large complex organization. Commercial/transactional and compliance experience preferred. Knowledge of healthcare preferred. Should have knowledge of U.S. privacy and data security laws, regulations and standards, including HIPAA, TCPA, U.S. state and federal privacy, data security, breach notification, and consumer protection related privacy laws and regulations. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; acute attention to detail. Should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively and engender trust and confidence with personnel at many different levels throughout the company.
