Counsel, Environmental and Construction Compliance The candidate to join the Regulatory Compliance team, which is responsible for negotiating, communicating, and ultimately fulfilling firms compliance requirements. In this role, will advise the company on environmental, worker safety, and other construction regulations and requirements, as we expand Driver Centers throughout the country. Reports to the Senior Counsel, Regulatory Compliance. Assess and mitigate the worker safety and environmental circumstances of each site identified by the retail team. Manage any outside consultants hired to assist with inspections, analysis, remediation, and any necessary environmental and hazardous materials permits. Negotiate with local and state government agencies (such as the Bureau of Automotive Repair) in order to initiate and expedite the permitting process. Provide advice on OSHA compliance (for both build-out and operations). Lead efforts to respond to regulatory inquiries, reports, and audits. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience working in a legal or compliance role, preferably within a corporate legal department. Must have JD Degree from a top school. Experience working with public agencies is required. Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have ability to think both tactically and strategically.
