Assistant General Counsel, Licensing and Regulatory Compliance DUTIES: Manage the Harvest compliance program. Provide legal and regulatory advice to ensure all products cultivated, manufactured, and sold are in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. A compliance partner to all internal business units, including operations (cultivation, production, and retail) and administrative (legal, HR, accounting/finance, and application/research) in support of the companys regulatory compliance efforts. Conduct government relations. Responsible for all company policies and procedures. Responsible for supporting the development and implementation of new products in compliance with all applicable laws. Responsible for providing legal advice to product management. Responsible for conducting legal research for internal business customers and providing concise, understandable, accurate, and actionable legal advice to non-attorneys. Significant interactions and negotiations with regulatory agencies including state cannabis departments. Responsible for tracking impactful government statutory/regulatory laws and communications; communicating these changes to business partners in a concise manner, assessing any impacts to the company, and supporting necessary implementation projects. Responsible for improving compliance through the development of consistent policies, procedures, best practices and guidelines for all company departments. Responsible for conducting, investigating, and managing investigations of potential compliance legal issues and ensuring investigations are handled promptly, accurately and resolved consistently. Responsible for drafting responses on complex matters to questions from state regulators in connection with consumer complaints, form filings, investigations, market conduct exams and informal inquiries. Participate in litigation and related legal matters as needed. Actively participate in the project management, coordination and implementation of company-wide initiatives. Review and provide legal and business advice with regard to review business review documents. Perform other duties and special projects for the compliance department on an as-needed basis. Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities. Work collectively and respectfully with other team members. Additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS: JD Degree and member in good standing of a state Bar. Bachelor's degree in business, political science, a related field or equivalent education required. 8+ years of experience as an attorney. Experience with healthcare, pharmaceutical, bioscience, or related industry regulatory compliance required. Experience with cannabis regulatory compliance preferred. Strong legal skills across a broad range of areas including regulatory compliance and familiar with applicable legal concepts, practices and procedures. Clear understanding of and adherence to ethical principles, company values, code of conduct and policies. Clear understanding of business operations, and corporate governance/compliance issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead as well as collaborate and function well in a team environment. Self-motivated and efficient, with good business judgment and analytic skills. Forward-thinking and creative, with the confidence to present and advocate for the implementation of ideas. Experienced with and capable of leading and directing the work of others. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to do legal research and provide legal advice under severe time constraints in a fast-moving environment Proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization. Detail oriented with an eye on process optimization. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it. Excellent communication skills and leadership both verbally and through written media. Must be able to handle constructive criticism and guidance and offer the same to others in the department. Ability to articulate job goals in a manner they re completed effectively the first time.
