Assistant General Counsel, Global Digital and Privacy Law

Assistant General Counsel, Global Digital and Privacy Law The candidate will provide strategic leadership and advice to firm's consumer health business on all aspects of data privacy issues. In addition, it will involve advising on a range of technology and digital matters. Develop trust advisor relationship with firm's Consumer Health business, tech and compliance teams on global privacy issues. Lead the strategy for external notices and consents, working with the firm's Privacy Centre of Excellence on roll out/operational implementation. Review, interpret, and lead implementation of new laws, official guidance and case law to ensure ongoing compliance by firm's business operations. Foster a data protection culture within the company and help implement essential elements of privacy law. Develop and maintain guidance and templates for Consumer Health Business Unit activities. Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in the following business areas: Marketing, ad-tech and digital campaigns; Privacy and data diligence issues associated with mergers and acquisitions / business development; Complex technology transactions and data transfers; Website and e-commerce privacy by design / cookie banners / consent tracking; Develop and implement internal training to business and legal teams on privacy matters. Primary subject matter legal expertise on consent, notice, consent tracking, privacy tech, privacy by design. Primary responsibility for third party privacy contracts design, templates and playbook across firm. The candidate should have 10 years of post-qualification experience for guideline purposes only. Previous leadership and/or management experience is desirable. Must have knowledge of complex multi-jurisdictional technology contracting and privacy experience gained from a multinational environment. Excellent technical and drafting skills needed. A track record in leading and advising on a range of technology transactions is required. Experience in a consumer-facing business, ideally with change management experience is required.
