Assistant General Counsel, Global Digital And Privacy Law Enterprise Technology Transactions The candidate will be supporting firms Digital and Technology organization with strong leadership skills. This role requires a broad-based provision of legal support and expert advice on digital and technology transactions with an appropriate balance for information protection risk management and data privacy compliance obligations. The role will require handling managing a small team and numerous transactions at the same time, plus advising senior management on a range of legal issues implicated by the transaction, both requiring the authority of experience from a seasoned in-house lawyer. This is a market differentiating role, with an excellent opportunity to develop, joining a team of combined health and tech legal experts in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role will partner closely with companys global privacy legal subject matter experts and other company legal functions. Specific responsibilities include of the following: Lead a team of 2-6 lawyers supporting company's core technology procurement initiatives. Manage negotiations ranging from highly complex systems integration transactions to low-complexity deals. Develop relationships with significant strategic technology partners of the company including all major technology vendors. Build internal relationships with the company business in tech, procurement, consumer, pharmaceuticals and vaccines. Partner with the company business to develop contracts and negotiate significant technology and digital transactions. Share and upskill the legal team's knowledge in the tech- health arena by developing best practices, negotiation guidance and training. Become a trusted advisor to one or more chief digital officers/chief technology officers, enable direct reports to have trusted advisor and key business partner relationships with stakeholders. Support major initiatives designed to drive revenue and savings from company's technology base. Build company's commercial viability in digital health by actively looking for opportunities to shape digital innovation in a compliant way. Lead negotiation strategy for digital third party contracts, lead the conduct of data privacy reviews, promote a competitively differentiating IP strategy in the rollout or trial of offers. Lead the drafting of templates, playbooks and guidance notes using plain English.

The candidate needs to be a privacy and technology subject matter expert with significant experience of advising at board level or equivalent. Law degree or legal qualification in home jurisdiction required, specialist qualifications in intellectual property and/or privacy a plus. Candidates are likely to have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience for guideline purposes only. Previous leadership and/or management experience is desirable as this is a highly visible and impactful role. Must have strong knowledge of and solid experience with negotiating and drafting digital and technology services agreements. Must have a strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations, and have relevant work experience in managing data privacy matters. Good knowledge and experience of how in-house lawyers serve employer clients is required. should have 10+ years applicable experience in a corporate law department or major law firm, or a combination of appropriate business experience and legal experience. Must have exposure as a legal adviser in the relevant area of the law, whether in private practice, commerce or government. Should have Strong interpersonal, negotiating and communication skills, strong management skills, a track record of managing lawyers in a legal setting. Must have excellent client management skills. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills required, together with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of company management. Expertise: Software licensing, database and data procurement, open-source, intellectual property, hardware, systems integration, outsourcing, cloud. Privacy (specialist privacy qualifications a plus). Complex tech transactional work, both inbound and outbound. Life sciences regulatory experience a plus. Marketing, ad-tech and data analytics. Knowledge Required: Complex multi-jurisdictional technology contracting and privacy experience gained from a multinational Fortune 500 environment. Excellent technical and drafting skills. Experience in supporting procurement, technology engineering, software development, applications development, data analytics teams. Track record in developing and implementing global privacy strategies. Ability to provide creative and commercial solutions to new and challenging issues in a constantly changing environment.
