Counsel - Intellectual Property

Counsel - Intellectual Property The Candidate will be responsible for develop and curate a strategic, global, IP portfolio to support long term business objectives. Provide counsel, guidance, and support for all aspects of existing and new IP, including drafting and reviewing IP applications and securing IP registrations. Work with research and operations team to identify and evaluate patentabilty of innovations. Identify and mitigate IP risks. Perform IP due diligence for strategic transactions. Advise on IP issues and considerations associated with various company initiatives and commercial matters. Advise on third party IP risks in connection with company operations. Manage outside counsel relationships as necessary.

The candidate should have JD/law degree and bar admission in at least one state with 5+ years relevant experience. Proven high-performing legal experience in both a law firm and an in-house environment. Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to internal clients. Strong analytical and strategic skills and ability to drive issues to a quick resolution that factor in many non-legal variables, such as brand-risk, government relations, tax, and finance. High degree of professional ethics and integrity. Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to build the processes and systems to prevent them from occurring.
