Counsel, Lead, US Commercial Contracts Duties: Timely preparation, review and negotiation of a high volume of contracts and other related documents, including but not limited to master agreements, service agreements, supply agreements, consulting agreements, statements of work, IT contracts, contracts in support of Global Procurement, and other legal documents. Review and analyze contract terms and conditions to determine compliance and assess risk and engage appropriate stakeholders in contract review and assessment. Support development of contract template language. Build relationships with key internal clients, including those in the Legal Team and Global Procurement, to facilitate contracting and procurement and support established policies and processes. Build relationships with critical support functions, including tax, insurance, compliance and others to ensure contract templates contain current applicable language. Serve as point of contact for Shire internal clients on contract negotiation and other contractual matters. Support development of training programs and train internal clients and external vendors on Shires contract request and review process, including global procurement processes. Participate in development of appropriate processes to improve efficiency and enhance department capabilities.

Requirements: Undergraduate degree required, JD Degree required. 3 - 8 years of experience supporting commercial contracts within a legal organization Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech industry and healthcare compliance requirements preferred Ability to influence and leverage relationships within and across functions Excellent communications skills (oral and written). Organized, responsible, detail-oriented and proactive. Works independently and able to exercise good judgment. Competent in multi-tasking and managing competing priorities and client demands.
