Senior Compliance Attorney The candidate will be responsible for companys compliance with regulatory requirements with a focus on ethics. Provides expertise to comply with regulations in the fields of consumer finance. Act as legal lead in implementing and maintaining compliance programs. Advise business and compliance teams on consumer finance regulatory issues including consumer financing regulations. Develop and implement strategy for managing and resolving regulatory inquiries and investigations. Collaborate with government relations team to develop and implement regulatory and policy strategy on important and breaking issues. Develop, update and maintain consumer related policies and procedures including company ethics standards. Guide and update internal compliance and controls to achieve highest consumer practice standards in the industry. Review, comment and guide contract review company-wide. Other Duties as assigned.
The candidate must have JD from accredited law school. At least 10 years of relevant experience is necessary. At least 5 years of experience in consumer finance regulatory compliance is critical. Knowledge of state and federal consumer finance laws and regulations (including, without limitation, examination preparation and coordination, drafting/maintaining of disclosure forms), expertise with TILA, FCRA, ECOA, FDCPA, TCPA, UDAAP (and state equivalents of same), experience with CFIPA and CCPA is a plus. Knowledge of residential solar and/or home improvement and/or PACE is an asset. Prior experience working with regulatory agencies, i.e. DBO and/or CFPB, others is essential. In good standing with CA Bar Association is must.
