Litigation Attorney The candidate will be responsible for the following activities: overseeing outside counsel and managing litigation strategy in lawsuits involving the company; working with in-house business organizations to collect information responsive to litigation discovery; providing day-to-day legal counseling in litigation matters; providing counsel and guidance to in-house business organizations related to pre-litigation disputes and strategies for avoiding litigation. The position entails significant interaction with in-house business organizations and other external parties. The position requires collaboration with and management of outside counsel. Provides legal advice, counsel and guidance to business organizations to assure that the Company, its assets and its activities are legally safeguarded, are in conformity with applicable laws and regulations and will not unduly expose the Company to litigation, claims or penalties. Keep management apprised of litigation status including potential litigation outcomes and settlement opportunities. Plans and develops solutions to existing or potential legal problems involving the Company, and advises management concerning legal risk mitigation and its legal rights and obligations. Should have Bachelor's Degree and J.D. from an ABA accredited school and licensed to practice law for at least seven years in one or more states; Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, drafting and communication skills; The ability to confidently interact with colleagues and adversaries and to translate difficult legal principles into practical business solutions; Must understand dynamics of managing outside counsel; Quick learner with a high degree of common sense and resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks; Highest levels of integrity, discretion and maturity; Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; and Ability to travel as needed; and Excellent references.
