Senior Counsel - Litigation and Supply Chain Duties: Directs and develops strategy with outside legal counsel during all phases of high-level, complex litigation relating to products and commercial claims; advises on product-related compliance and potential risk; develops and guides strategy in conjunction with client business needs. Directs and develops strategy with outside legal counsel during all phases of mass-tort claims, including discovery and pre-trial preparation. Continually seeks efficiencies and cost containment in developing strategy. Advises, counsels, and/or assists internal Purchasing clients in drafting and reviewing supply agreements for direct and indirect purchasing; promptly answers their legal questions, provides feedback and advice, and negotiates agreements as requested. Counsels internal clients on resolving customer, supplier and commercial disputes and on product compliance, warnings and processes; provides advice and training on same. Advises on affirmative recovery opportunities and manages litigation for same. The candidate will have: JD Degree and a current member of the appropriate State Bar or ability to register as in-house counsel. 10+ years related legal experience with significant experience directly advising in-house business clients and independently managing all aspects of litigation with outside counsel. Ability to travel domestically to Company facilties and other offices as required periodically. Ability and willingness to travel domestically to corporate offices (Racine, WI) for first 3-6 months in role to gain familiarity of Company, colleagues, processes, and preferred business and litigation strategies. Strong foundation of experience in areas of the law applicable to Company operations. Focus, experience and emphasis in product liability, toxic tort litigation and supply chain matters are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide timely, practical answers to questions from business clients and inspire confidence and good judgment. Must have ability to provide legal advice within business context. Team player yet self sufficient, focused on providing practical business solutions. Extensive amount of independent thinking and clear strategic analysis is required. Regular and consistent attendance and ability/willingness to respond to clients and counsel beyond regular business hours.
