Real Estate Attorney The candidate will provide advice to the firms divisions throughout the country with respect to real estate transactions, contracting issues, due diligence matters, development issues, title, and customer concerns. Responsible for reviewing, negotiating and drafting real estate contracts and related agreements for the acquisition of raw land, partially developed land and finished platted lots, and land development, for the purpose of building single family homes, as well as conducting due diligence and closing the land acquisitions, including working with paralegals and title companies to prepare and review closing documents and title work. Due diligence may include legal analysis of title issues, bonding and development matters, community facilities districts, homeowner associations, and water availability, among other issues. Interact with management in discussing and managing risks with respect to the purchase and development of real estate, and provide guidance to the firms division personnel with respect to company land transaction policies and procedures and other risk management processes. Additionally provide assistance in the area of leasing.
The candidate should be a J.D. or LLM from an accredited law school. Must be admitted to practice in the State of Colorado, or another State with single client admission in Colorado. 8+ years as a practicing lawyer with an emphasis on real estate is preferred. Some homebuilding experience is crucial.
