Insurance Defense Attorney The candidate will be responsible for: Researches laws and prepares legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda. Renders opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the claims department. Prepares and handles pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath. Defends by trial, arbitration, or mediation all matters assigned, as applicable. Must be able to travel as required, including, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences. Must have License in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions. Should have 1+ year of personal injury litigation experience or 2 years litigation experience. Must have held a valid drivers license compliant with company underwriting standards for a minimum of three years, and to maintain applicable state and federal certifications and permits.
