Senior Corporate Counsel

Senior Corporate Counsel The candidate will review/draft a variety of agreements, including vendor and IT/technology agreements. Evaluate the impact of legislative, regulatory, legal and industry developments and proposals across Companys business model and technologies. Respond to regulatory inquiries and reviews; draft regulatory filings. Provide strategic counsel on customer and employee data practices and policies, vendor and technology agreements, and product review for the companys ecommerce and mobile strategies. Work closely with our Development and Technology teams to address data protection issues proactively. Assess potential privacy and security risks, and applicable regulatory requirements, for Companys technologies, business model and strategies. Perform legal evaluations of Companys technology R&D and innovation. Facilitate compliance with U.S. and international data privacy and personal information collection rules, regulations, and standards, including GDPR. Oversee and partner with outside counsel on business initiatives worldwide. Communicate with and educate Companys department and teams on developments in corporate legal compliance, policies, and practices. Research and advise on relevant FTC, FDA and other regulatory agency regulations. Assist in the implementation of international market expansion. Manage litigation by partnering with outside counsel (including international counsel) to investigate cases, review pleadings and drive litigation strategy. The candidate should have D. from top recognized law school. Should have 5-10 years of relevant experience. Should have Privacy/data security counseling (either in-house or in private practice) and litigation experience a plus. Experience with US privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those relevant to social media and ecommerce. Hands-on experience with EU and other international privacy standards a significant plus. In-house legal experience preferred but not required. Contract and transactional experience. Strong communication and writing skills; experience working on and directing cross-functional teams.
