Corporate Counsel- Labor and Employment Law Responsibilities: Provide practical and business-oriented legal advice and counseling on a range of employment issues, including: hiring, performance management, employee relations, terminations, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, internal investigations, compensation, benefits, and privacy. Provide advice regarding international data privacy laws as they relate to employee data. Provide advice and counsel on issues related to international disability and accommodations laws, statutory leave entitlements, wage and hour laws, employment discrimination statutes, equal pay, corporate separateness and contingent workers issues, affirmative action and diversity, drug-free workplace, general union and works council relations and contract negotiations, strike support, employee discipline and termination, restructuring, whistleblower laws, wrongful discharge claims, drafting employment agreements and policies, and other labor and employment law matters. Develop, draft and implement a variety of workplace policies, procedures, employee training and employment-related templates and agreements in collaboration with People Operations and Growth. Investigate, actively manage and respond to global People Operations investigations of employee complaints and all administrative cases, audits or inquiries (including EEOC, NLRB, DOL wage and hour charges, and comparable international laws). Liaise with outside counsel on international employment related matters. Oversee, direct, and provide employment advice with respect to internal investigations. Investigate, negotiate and resolve pre-litigation claims and administrative charges, and serve as subject matter expert for employment litigation matters. Collaborate with local counsel to advise People Operations and management on international employment issues. Work with outside counsel to defend the Company in all labor and employment litigation. This includes, but is not limited to, developing strategy, reviewing pleadings and motions, participating in depositions, and assessing potential exposure, legal precedent, public relations, political ramifications, etc. Assist in managing the efforts of outside counsel, including controlling and reducing outside counsel fees, as well as consultant and other costs for related labor and employment law services. Actively monitor changes to applicable employment laws and regulations to ensure policies and practices remain compliant. Assist company with the sponsorship and management of employment visas. Assist with global expansion, including mergers, acquisitions, and stock purchases from due diligence through implementation. Provide advice and support on all contractual matters as it relates to employment law and corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions. Conduct process and procedure audits of the People Operations Department to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and that best practices are followed.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college. JD Degree from an ABA accredited law school. Active admission to State Bar Association. 5+ years of experience in labor & employment law. Experience working in-house Experience in labor & employment law with large corporate law department Knowledge in industries of technology/cybersecurity Experience with compliance and data privacy High degree of competence as a labor & employment lawyer; ability to manage heavy workload in a high-pressure environment. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments and externally; must be proactive in providing counsel to clients. Sound judgment; ability to clearly make reasoned decisions and recommendations; ability to cross think and determine who should be kept informed. Self-starter with good business sense and a sense of urgency, honesty and fairness. Demonstrate leadership and team-working skills in support of a collaborative environment.
