Senior Counsel, Litigation The candidate will manage litigation, claims and disputes and advise/partner with internal business clients on such matters. Will manage discovery and factual development of litigation and claims, including the collection, retention, and production of documents; interview company employees; draft written objections and responses to discovery requests; monitor dockets and track deadlines; create timelines and other summaries; and effectively partner with the business and Business Technology team on all such matters. Oversee responses to subpoenas and other requests for information, including third party subpoenas, government and/or agency subpoenas, or other requests for information. Provide support and advice on labor and employment laws, regulations, and employee matters. Provide strategic advice and counsel on a wide variety of other legal issues including corporate, regulatory, commercial, cyber security, intellectual property, risk management and general legal advice throughout the company. Assist with compliance programs, including developing appropriate policies, procedures, audits, and trainings. Manage external counsel in accordance with outside counsel guidelines, within specified budgetary limits, and in line with business and legal management's expectations. Work collaboratively across the Legal department, including the company's global team of regional-based attorneys, to build consensus on process improvements and drive corporate legal projects to completion. The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school and admission to, and good standing with, a State Bar. Must have 5+ years of experience in a major law firm or major in-house legal department. Significant experience managing litigation, claims and disputes is required. Experience providing counsel in a highly regulated environment is preferred. Industry experience in a healthcare or life sciences company, such as a CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical drug development company is desired.
