Associate Counsel, Employment And Litigation

Associate Counsel, Employment and Litigation Responsibilities: Independently handle all phases of litigation including drafting motions, court filings, discovery demands and responses. Manage cases dealing with wage & hour, payroll records, and misclassification, among others. Represent the company in lawsuits and negotiate settlements with plaintiffs. Provide counsel to employees and the company on a wide range of employment laws and regulations. Candidates should have familiarity with federal court practice, as well as with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, and other federal, state and local government administrative agencies. Develop new compliance programs, propose them to the executive team for approval. Orchestrate, review, and revise contracts and legal documents. Provide support for M&A transactions, including working on deal structure and LOI terms. Assist with negotiating contracts for the firm's portfolio companies. Work with the team in finding optimal resolutions in a wide spectrum of legal matters. Provide legal support to the internal team on complex business issues. Identify different methods for improved practices. Assist with succession planning of businesses and project executions.

Requirements: JD Degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the California State Bar. 3+ years of experience practicing law. In-house experience preferred, not required. Experience with Employment Law and Litigation is required. Experience with M&A due diligence, deal negotiation is a plus. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Exceptional negotiation skills. Strong business and financial acumen. Problem solver, with a self-starter mentality and the right attitude.
