Federal - Data Privacy And Ethics & Compliance Counsel

Federal - Data Privacy and Ethics & Compliance Counsel Duties: Partner with legal, business, and technical leadership to interpret and apply regulations and policy across the company s operations and lines of business. Advise on data privacy issues and ethics & compliance requirements, including Global, US Federal, and US State & Local laws. Design and help implement risk assessments, policies, procedures, and tools related to data privacy and broader ethics & compliance areas. Support contracting teams to understand and mitigate contractual and delivery risk. Advise the business on the application of data privacy considerations, including PIA, to internal processes and emerging technologies, including AI. Provide strong collaboration across the business to anticipate and address risk and compliance. Develop and deliver communication and training to targeted audiences. Qualifications: JD Degree with active Bar Membership. 5 years' legal experience. 3 years focused experience with data privacy issues. 3 years' experience with data privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, Privacy Act), 3 years substantial experience with data privacy requirements. Ability to communicate complex legal issues in an understandable and persuasive manner to technical and business leaders at all organizational levels. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a cross-functional team. Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment, leveraging telephonic, electronic, and face-to-face communications skills. Superior time management and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of federal government contracting regulations and environment (e.g. NIST, FAR/DFARS, CICA, FCA). Experience implementing compliance programs including risk assessments, policies, training, communication, and audits. Relevant experience with law firm or corporate legal department. Working knowledge of emerging technology.
