Senior Counsel- Intellectual Property, Brand Protection and Privacy Duties: Maintain, develop and defend intellectual property both in the US and abroad. Oversee management and development of a complex and large international intellectual property portfolio, including strategic analysis that balances broad protection with cost effectiveness in patent, trademark and copyright filings. Oversee and lead brand protection efforts, including identifying infringers, initiating and responding to potential infringement and counterfeit concerns, sending cease and desist letters, filing takedown requests and other pre-litigation and litigation activities. Provide litigation support, including gathering relevant documents and materials, preparing and reviewing litigation holds and responses to discovery, and engaging in litigation research. Manage domain name disputes and UDRP proceedings globally. Manage and collaborate with external counsel and other experts. Be a thought leader and subject matter expert to ensure *** compliance with evolving global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, other state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws). Maintain and update our privacy policy and terms of service as necessary. Review, draft and revise contracts with a focus on complex IP and privacy matters, including license agreements, vendor/service provider agreements, data transfer and data protection agreements. Provide support to the business on other legal matters on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications: JD Degree from a nationally accredited and recognized law school with strong academic record. Membership in the California Bar (in good standing), or eligibility and commitment to register as California Registered In-House Counsel. 8+ years of directly relevant experience, preferably including time both at a top law firm and in-house legal experience with a company focused on the manufacture and/or sale of physical products. Deep and demonstrated experience with a full range of intellectual property protection and enforcement strategies. Proven ability to design, implement and manage intellectual property development and brand protection programs at a global scale. Exceptionally strong business acumen and the ability to work effectively and efficiently on multiple projects in a busy work environment, while being a critical (and often autonomous) go-to partner for fellow peers in the company and legal department. A practical, business-oriented approach and excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex legal concepts into simple, actionable recommendations. Confirmed ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization in a fast-paced environment while building strong internal relationships and influence across departments. High level of integrity, professionalism, intellectual curiosity and willingness to grow.
