Assistant General Counsel - Technology & Privacy RESPONSIBILITIES: Advise the business on existing and emerging domestic and international laws and industry standards,particularly as they relate to e-commerce, data privacy, and information security, evaluate their impact on the business, and assist in developing the Company's position on such changes. Develop and maintain user-facing and public-facing terms and notices connected to technology-related product and services (especially including the geographic-specific terms of use, privacy notices, and cookie policies). Develop and maintain internal-facing policies relating to privacy, technology and retention (including employee privacy policies/disclosures, Bring-Your-Own-Device policy and Global Retention Policy). Oversee internal compliance programs and processes relating to technology and privacy to ensure we meet obligations under those programs.Serve as the legal point-of-contact for negotiating the privacy and technology- related provisions of commercial contracts. Provide subject matter expert support to other members of the legal and business teams on privacy matters,including in areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, franchise-partners, integrations, and other business development opportunities. Assist in responding to questions and inquiries from external interests on privacy and other technology-related regulatory matters.Collaborate with other lawyers and business partners to evaluate new and existing programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with global privacy laws and guidelines. Oversee and manage local counsel and related resources, compliance support, and enforcement.

QUALIFICATIONS: JD degree and membership in good standing for at least one State bar (admitted in Pennsylvania or eligible for In-house corporate counsel license within a year). 3-5 years of prior in-house experience and/or at a top tier law firm. Retail and international experience preferred. Direct experience applying U.S. and European privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for retail companies. Experience evaluating privacy impacts relating to acquisitions, partnerships and commercial deals, and updates to internal and external policies and compliance programs. Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment and provide advice under tight deadlines. Talent for thinking creatively in confronting new issues and pursuing novel approaches to old problems. Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team environment. Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting. Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management(from conception to completion), & planning skills.
