Senior International Trade Compliance Counsel The candidate will provide general advice and counseling on international trade compliance laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standard work. Will manage investigations of potential or suspected violations of law or company policy and, where required, prepare disclosures to U.S. Government agencies. Manage all trade compliance matters in the ITC investigation management system, including opening new investigations and inquiries, working with key investigators, and oversee the completion of corrective actions by business units throughout the globe. Manage and oversee complex transaction reviews for our global business enterprise that touch on multi-jurisdictional sanctions programs and export control regimes. Manage and update sanctions, export & licensing compliance procedures; draft processes and work step instructions in support of compliance policy and procedures. Implement new processes and procedures across business. Support the development and communication of solid ITC program infrastructure, leadership, culture, awareness and training. Prepare factual summaries, presentations and training materials regarding trade compliance issues and obligations, and lead presentations to and training sessions for business teams and management as needed. Participate in audits, internal reviews and investigations to identify compliance enhancement opportunities and develop corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies to address compliance gaps. Project leadership in compliance enhancement initiatives by collaborating with other departments (Engineering, Human Resources, Supply Chain, IT etc.) and leading cross-functional teams.
The candidate should have BA/BS degree and JD with 5+ years of experience. Must have extensive working knowledge of the EAR, OFAC and other sanction programs, and antiboycott regulations. General corporate or commercial experience providing guidance and practical solutions for doing business with or in other countries preferred. Must be proficient at approaching problems/risks/issues with professionalism, confidence and decisiveness. Compliance program, risk management and/or investigations experience a plus.
