Regulatory Compliance Counsel The candidate will be responsible for: Advise company engineers, technical staff, government relations staff, customer service, operations, and management on FMVSS, FTA and NHTSA regulations applicable to battery electric buses, and applicable state laws and regulations. Advise company's supply chain organization on Buy America compliance matters. Advise's operations and customer service staff on federal and state health, welfare and safety compliance. Represent company before federal and state authorities, agencies, administrative tribunals, and courts in regulatory matters. Work closely with internal clients and with company partners on compliance matters. Review proposed laws and regulations, and assist in's comments and lobbying efforts. Support company participation in trade association matters. Draft, review, and implement internal policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by management. Must have excellent English communication skills. Should have Juris Doctorate degree and a member in good standing of a state bar association. Must have 3+ years of experience as counsel to an automotive manufacturer specializing in regulatory compliance, including FMVSS compliance and NHTSA reporting. Should have strong working knowledge of environmental and health, welfare and safety regulations for US manufacturers. Must have experience managing corporate compliance programs, including employee training and internal audits. Should have experience working with many different stakeholders to develop and implement process and procedures and organizational improvements. Must have excellent analytical, negotiation, communication and drafting skills applicable to a wide variety of matters. Must be able to communicate written and oral english. Experience with mobile emissions and fuel economy standards matters under the Clean Air Act preferred. In-house legal work with a high technology company, including software and hardware desired. Working knowledge of consumer privacy regulation in the US and Europe a plus. Government contracting experience desired.
