Associate General Counsel Privacy Compliance, Governance Los Angeles, CA Austin, TX Menlo Park, CA Washington, DC New York, NY San Francisco, CA Hide Apply to Job Back to Jobs is seeking a talented Associate General Counsel Privacy Compliance attorney to advise on the designing and operating of a comprehensive reporting process to enable corporate governance functions, including for the Chief Privacy Officer, Independent Privacy Assessor, and Board of Directors. Advise on reporting process, including assessment of sufficiency of content under relevant legal obligations. Provide legal guidance related to privacy compliance enforcement by supporting: governance bodies, privacy policy setting, monitoring and reporting on privacy controls, escalated decisions on privacy issues/risks, and escalated enforcement of privacy requirements. Handle escalated reporting issues related to assessment, certification, regulatory, or similar reporting Associate General Counsel Privacy Compliance, Governance Responsibilities Manage Legal's support of key aspects of our privacy compliance programs and processes to ensure we meet our obligations under those programs Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and protection laws and advising about the impact of the same on's business Provide Legal advice and day-to-day support to the Privacy Program's Assessor Support Office Investigate and advise on potential privacy issues related to corporate governance and external reporting Provide legal advice on privacy program controls testing and management of privacy compliance Support members of the legal, business, and policy teams on privacy related legal matters, including in areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across 's business including Policy, Legal, Communications, Security, and other departments Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar Experience with compliance, regulatory, or product counseling Experience prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines Experience using business judgment and with client counseling Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with global privacy laws, compliance, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media and Internet companies Demonstrated expertise in privacy and data issues arising in one or more privacy areas such as HR, security, advertising, B2B products, Internet of Things, or privacy program implementation/management 's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.
