Senior Deputy General Counsel, Insurance Regulatory Duties: Provide strategic day-to-day management of team comprised of regulatory lawyers and non-lawyer analysts to ensure efficient working relationships and deliverables, as well as appropriate development of the staff. Partner with leaders from finance, accounting, reinsurance, actuary, compliance, product, engineering, claims, business development and marketing to anticipate, strategize on and solve a variety of legal issues. Partner with and manage outside counsel resources to ensure efficient and effective results. Own all regulatory filing processes and build trusted relationships with regulators. Interact positively and professionally to develop working relationships, build consensus and foster trust and collaboration at all levels of management and teams. Be results-oriented with a track record of gaining management credibility and influencing business results. Be a true business partner, not just a legal advisor, by working together with business partners to successfully achieve company business goals and objectives. Demonstrate a high degree of independent judgment.

Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years experience in property and casualty insurance regulatory work. A minimum of 8 years experience managing effective and results-oriented teams. Undergraduate and law degrees; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar. Experience providing legal advice in a multi-line property and casualty insurance company. Experience providing legal advice in an insurance holding company system that includes multiple underwriting companies with respect to matters between and among insurance holding company system affiliates. Demonstrated ability to lead and coach professionals with a positive, team-building attitude, and to interact productively and collaboratively with all other teams at the company. Demonstrated experience building new regulator relationships and capacity to help the team further enhance current regulator relationships. Executive presence; ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel. Must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and pivot between responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Ability to propose and implement practical, efficient and effective solutions to legal issues. Exceptional critical thinking abilities, strong business acumen, and excellent judgment. Exemplary personal and professional integrity and business ethics--exercise discretion and maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information. Commitment to diversity and respect for others.
