Litigation Attorney Responsibilities: Serve as a lead member of a litigation team to provide coverage for UtiliSave, UtiliSave clients and the Steifman Law Firm (imminently to be formed) legal activity. Provide counsel and legal and litigation advice to the CEO, legal team and auditing team, regarding general energy law issues, and matters involving public utilities. Reports directly to the CEO. Maintain relationships with outside counsel and stay informed of all matters pertaining to ongoing related litigation in state offices (PSC, FERC and others) as well as relevant administrative courts. Provide litigation coverage relating to actions with governmental agencies such as City Water Board and various state Public Service Commissions (PSC). Manage claims with the Public Service Commission and similar regulatory bodies in other states from inception to final disposition of claims. Undertake as the lead for new business litigation relating to Qui-Tams and class action lawsuits Continuously undertake extensive research and legal /business writing, relating to the development of new business opportunities for UtiliSave and Steifman Law Firm. Stay current on utility rate cases, electric market updates, and other state regulatory filings. Undertake lobbying with relevant government entities to advance our advocacy for our clients in the direction of the CEO.

Requirements: Active practice of litigation for at least 5 years. Active trial experience for 3+ years with material involvement (with 1+ trial with applicant acting in first chair capacity) in 3+ trials that included actual trial start and the actual presentation of the case by the side which applicant represented, with at least one trial consummating in a decision.. Experience in Qui-Tam and class action lawsuits. Ability to act with a business perspective, not just legal. Business savvy, financial acumen, and risk sensitivity required. Ability to effectively work remotely as required. Active interest in research and issue development. Excellent with researching specific legal areas. Willing to wear many legal hats. Experience working in a small company is ideal but not mandatory. Interest and/or experience in public utility/energy/surrounding issues. Polished professional, ambassador for legal and regulatory function, with high fluency and comfort with ambiguity and decision-making on incomplete information. Outstanding communicator (both written and oral) with demonstrated people skills. Excellent analytical and writing skills and an ability to effectively communicate in writing to senior members of the legal, regulatory, and business teams. Sound ethical background.
