AVP, Asst. General Counsel (Residential Mortgage Compliance) The candidate will be responsible for providing legal analysis, advice, and counsel on all assigned issues, focusing on consumer finance, state and federal mortgage operations and general regulatory compliance. This position will reside within the Company's Legal Department and will primarily support the Company's enterprise and mortgage related regulatory compliance program. Identify, interpret and apply regulatory requirements for all business lines, with a concentration on state and federal consumer protection, licensing, privacy and cybersecurity, and mortgage and residential real estate. Support enterprise legal compliance program and contribute to the further improvement and enhancement of the program, including policy creation and maintenance, training, compliance testing, responding to regulatory inquiries and customer requests, and serve as a subject matter expert for contract review, marketing, vendor management, new product development, and related legal and operational issues. Stay current with existing and developing statutes, regulations, laws, regulatory bulletins, court rulings and regulatory environment with respect to mortgage, real estate and consumer protection matters. Assist the Company's Legal Department on other assigned projects.

The candidate should have 3-6 years of post-law school experience relevant to the position in the legal department of a residential mortgage lender, servicer or similar organization. Mortgage industry operations experience is highly preferred. Must have strong knowledge of state and federal consumer protection law and regulation related to residential mortgage and real estate. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate to internal clients and to advise and advocate in support of business needs. Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment and develop practical solutions to problems that may not be directly addressed by applicable law. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn and work in multiple computer systems as needed. Other Certifications: Must possess a J.D. from an accredited law school. Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one state. If not licensed in Pennsylvania, it may be expected that the candidate will obtain a Pennsylvania law license within one year of hire.
