Managing Counsel, Litigation Duties: Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, legal research, independently develop, recommend and present defense strategies on behalf of . Correspond with other parties' attorney to discuss cases and negotiate for the dismissal or resolution of cases at all stages in the litigation process. Respond to Complaints, Discovery Requests, and file other Motions with the Court, as needed. Stay abreast of and report findings and trends on litigation matters and regulatory changes affecting the industry to CLO & GC, and assist with the development of policies as needed. Create and maintain matters and contracts in HighQ. Represent company in legal proceedings. Work closely with other staff in the Legal Team to ensure consistency in approach across areas of the overall business and providing support for areas outside of the Legal department as needed, including close collaboration with HR, Marketing, Operations and Sales. Assist in pre-litigation disputes and lawsuits filed in state and federal courts against Company. Manage the workflow of direct reports, up to but not limited to time card approval, performance evaluation and disciplinary actions as needed. Directly responsible for training, mentoring, supervising and supporting ongoing development of a direct reports which includes attorneys and paralegals. Respond to complaints from state and federal agencies related to employment issues, contractors board issues, and advertising issues. Work directly with the Escalations team in order to assist in responding to non-litigation complaints. Manage outside counsel assisting in litigation matters in other states. Attend continuing legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise. This position may require travel to various office locations and court hearings across the U.S. Other duties as assigned.

Qualification: Must have a J.D. License from ABA accredited law school; Member in good standing of the California State Bar. Must have 5-10 years of general legal experience; Multi-state regulatory licensing, contractor's licensing and compliance, preferred. Real property, corporate and employment law is a plus. Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment, wearing multiple hats, flexible attitude and quick to react. Must have a valid CA Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to attend hearings and other legal matters as needed. Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus. Excellent writing, research and analytical skills. Must be able to communicate at a professional level with all levels of the company. Ability to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Excels under pressure in demanding, fast-paced environment.
