Director, Labor and Employment Attorney The candidate will provide expertise on a full range of domestic and international employment issues including hiring, performance management, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, internal investigations, compliance, privacy, working time, and HR best practices. Will partner with the People Success leadership team in developing employment law-related programs, including policy creation and implementation and oversight of internal audits and monitoring processes. Will be providing advice and counsel to the People Success team and business leaders across the company on a range of employment law issues including those relating to recruiting, hiring, performance management, re-organizations, compensation and benefits, accommodations, leaves of absence, diversity programs, employee classification and contingent workforces, and other employment-related matters. Will partner across the global People Success organization to provide support for HR-related programs and provide global training on labor and employment law and the intersection of related compliance and privacy topics. Will monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to the above substantive legal areas and provide advice to the partners. Assist with internal investigations and related activities when they touch matters relating to labor and employment. Provide employment-related support on transactional matters including contract drafting and negotiation, and acquisition-related advice. Provide representation before state and federal administrative agencies, including the EEOC, Department of Labor, OFCCP, other labor and employment related agencies, and in mediations and arbitrations.

The candidate should have a JD from an accredited U.S. law school and be a member in good standing of a U.S. State bar, preferably California or Texas. Have at least 10 years specializing in U.S. employment law, measurably gained from both in-house, multinational companies and international law firms. Experience must include significant employment litigation. Must have considerable knowledge of California and Texas labor and employment law and an understanding of the intersection between employment law, privacy and compliance. Must demonstrate effectiveness in the practice of employment and labor law with particular emphasis on Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, USERRA, FLSA, and employment-related torts and litigation. Have a history working effectively with global HR teams and business leaders, applying analytical and conceptual skills to be effective at building agreement among leaders. Must be a practical problem-solver who is confident, mature, flexible, and calm under pressure and can work independently in a dynamic environment. Have a passion for employment law and keep up-to-date on developments. Must express the highest degree of personal and professional integrity and ethic.
