Privacy & Compliance Counsel Responsibilities: Advise internal clients on the various legal risks, obligations, and other issues related to privacy and cybersecurity and provide strategic legal, privacy and cybersecurity advice to key business partners. Work hands-on with business and product teams to support the enhancement and updating of privacy and cybersecurity risk management and compliance. Provide strategic input and day-to-day business support for product features and initiatives related to data, such as identity and consent management. Negotiate data protection terms in both sales and vendor contracts, and advise regarding other privacy and cybersecurity matters in connection with onboarding with customers and of vendors. Serve as Legal and Compliance team's first point of contact internally on legal issues for privacy and cybersecurity programs. Develop or mature other areas of compliance, including policies and training.
Qualifications: 2+ years of privacy and cybersecurity legal experience, with in-house experience strongly preferred. CIPP certification required. Direct experience applying U.S. and European privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for Internet companies. Direct experience evaluating privacy impacts relating to partnerships and commercial deals, and updates to internal and external policies and compliance programs. Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment and provide advice under tight deadlines with excellent judgment. Experience with drafting and negotiating data protection terms in commercial contracts. Knowledge of identity and consent management issues strongly preferred.
