Managing Counsel, Litigation Duties: Represent the company in legal proceedings in all stages of pre-litigation/litigation. Extensive knowledge in federal and state employment laws and regulations (including ADA, FMLA, CFRA, FLSA, etc.). Experience in providing guidance/counsel to top level management and HR Department regarding a broad range of employment issues including wage and hour compliance, discipline and separations, and LOA. Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, legal research, independently develop, recommend and present defense strategies on behalf of. Correspond with other parties attorneys to discuss cases and negotiate for the dismissal or resolution of cases at all stages in the litigation process. Respond to Complaints, Discovery Requests, and file other Motions with the Court, as needed. Stay abreast of and report findings and trends on litigation matters and regulatory changes affecting the industry to CLO, and assist with the development of policies as needed. Manage the workflow of direct reports, up to but not limited to timecard approval, performance evaluation and disciplinary actions as needed. Directly responsible for training, mentoring, supervising and supporting ongoing development of a direct reports which includes attorneys and paralegals. Oversee legal operations and assist in obtaining and maintaining legal support software. Respond to complaints from state and federal agencies related to employment issues, contractors board issues, and advertising issues. Assist Escalations team with responding to non-litigation complaints. Manage outside counsel assisting in litigation matters in other states. Obtain and maintain licenses in other jurisdictions to assist in keeping outside counsel costs low.

Requirements: Must have a JD Degree License from ABA accredited law school; Member in good standing of the California State Bar. 5-10 years of general legal experience; Multi-state regulatory licensing, contractor's licensing and compliance, preferred. Real property, corporate and employment law is a plus. Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment, wearing multiple hats, flexible attitude and quick to react. Must have a valid CA Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to attend hearings and other legal matters as needed. Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus. Excellent writing, research and analytical skills. Must be able to communicate at a professional level with all levels of the company. Ability to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Excels under pressure in demanding, fast-paced environment.
