Employment Law Group Attorney, Vice President Responsibilities: The Employment Law Group, Vice President, Attorney will focus on employment law matters. This Vice President position reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Employment Law Group manager. Advice and counsel to HR professionals and management on a broad range of employment issues, including: recruiting, hiring, employee relations, discipline and termination, internal investigations (including data analysis), reductions-in-force, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, wage and hour compliance, employee benefits (experience with ERISA and non-ERISA benefits health & welfare and retirement plans preferred), compensation, regulatory change and compliance including emerging COVID regulation. Work closely with all levels of Human Resources colleagues to provide sound, ethical and practical legal service and advice. Ability to analyze compensation, EEO, litigation metrics, and other data in support of HR function legal support; synthesize large data sets to create graphs, charts, and other diagrams using Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. Manage and respond to agency charges, attorney demand letters, mediations, arbitrations and litigations, as necessary, and provide metrics on such for Employment Law Group. Strategic advice and counsel on development and implementation of employment policies and procedures. Direct outside counsel and manage budget on employment matters. Conduct manager and human resources training.

Qualifications: 5+ years experience in employment counseling and litigation at a law firm with strong employment law practice or as in-house employment counsel in a highly regulated environment (financial services preferred). Strong knowledge of California and Federal employment laws and regulations. Excellent risk analysis skills and judgment. Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create consensus, influence, interact with and advise senior executives, build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues. JD and excellent academic credentials. Member of California Bar.
