Assistant General Counsel - Privacy, Information Security and Data The candidate will lead a team of legal professionals within the Enterprise Functions Division providing expert legal and technical advice in the areas of privacy, information and cyber security, incident response, and data and information management. This team will advise on a wide variety of matters including privacy policies and procedures, risk mitigation, data security, GDPR compliance, CCPA compliance, employee privacy, record retention, international and cross-border data transfer, data breach readiness, response and crisis management and related matters. The team will partner with clients and stakeholders to proactively plan for crisis incidents, respond effectively and efficiently, develop strategies to improve resiliency and protect the business and brand. Lead a team of attorneys and legal professionals supporting privacy and data use across the enterprise, including supporting the execution of innovative data driven business initiatives. Provide counsel on legal and regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures, best practices, and strategies for managing privacy and data security risk. Serve as the legal representative on various internal partnerships involving privacy and data security matters working cross-functionally with business leaders to translate legal and policy requirements to business partners to position privacy as a competitive advantage that can drive business growth and impact customer experience. Provide proactive legal advice to Senior Leaders within the organization on the most complex and emerging privacy and cybersecurity risk issues. Counsel through threats and incidents and develop strategies to both mitigate and manage risk. Direct cybersecurity incident and data breach investigations (related but not limited to hacking, phishing, trade secrets theft, click fraud, cyber threats, and identity theft). Develop and maintain relationships with key internal constituencies, including Business Groups and Enterprise teams in advising on compliance and risk management requirements applicable to the Company's products, services and operations and in supporting the Company's risk management framework. Foster individual team member growth and development in substantive areas and help build transferrable skill sets. Build and transform the team, as needed, to align with industry standards and create a high functioning legal support model. Must be skilled at navigating a complex financial services company, knowledgeable on a wide range of topics relevant to the business and operations of a large and complex financial services company, skilled in analyzing complex issues and matters and developing a work plan for handling them, proactive, self-sufficient, personable, creative, composed and flexible. Must have Active State Bar membership. Should have 10+ years of practicing as an attorney with a major law firm, banking regulatory agency, or in-house law department, including 4+ years of representing financial services firms in banking regulatory or transactional activities. Must have 4+ years of management experience leading large teams of attorneys and other legal professionals practicing in the area of banking regulatory or transactional activities in a major law firm, banking regulatory agency or in-house law department. Budget management experience desired. Deep understanding of existing and emerging cybersecurity related risks, statutes, regulations and best practices (General Data Protection Regulation, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Binding Corporate Rules, etc.) preferred. Experience reviewing and editing policies and procedures to enhance Privacy, Information Security and Data compliance desired. Close Date: 03/10/2021.
