Corporate Counsel - Compliance The candidate will monitor proposed and recently passed legislation at the federal, state and local levels and support the development of appropriate compliance solutions. Support the Company's strategic project initiatives providing compliance counsel, along with practical and innovative solutions to meet both compliance and business needs. Draft, review, and/or revise Company policies and procedures, including Handbook and Manager Manuals. Develop and deliver training related to areas of responsibility. Participate in the development and implementation of corporate data privacy program. Manage relationship and budget for outside counsel on various matters where support is needed.
The candidate should preferably have Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law school with accompanying State licensure. Preferred experience of 3+ years in the essential job duties described above. Foundation knowledge of employment, privacy and technology law is preferred. Must have proven ability and successes in the following: proactively seeking and executing creative solutions, providing strong customer service, and negotiating, partnering and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues. Must have ability to read, analyze and interpret laws, rules and regulations, legal documents, and financial and other reports. Must have ability to anticipate, recognize and define problems from both a legal and overall corporate perspective, collect data, establish facts, and draw logical and valid conclusions based on sound legal and business judgment. Excellent writing, research, technical, communication, organizational, data analysis and decision-making skills are required. Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills required. Lexis or Westlaw experience preferred.
