Associate General Counsel - Reinsurance Transactions Duties: Managing and negotiating the legal aspects of GI's ceded reinsurance treaty programs globally across all property and casualty business lines. Advising on reinsurance-related aspects of strategic transactions at COMPANY, including M&A, capital markets and insurance-linked securities (ILS) matters. Counseling senior executives on matters relating to COMPANY's reinsurance on its legacy/run-off operations. Advising multiple business units on ceded and assumed facultative reinsurance transactions. Managing the contractual aspects of internal reinsurance arrangements within COMPANY. Working with COMPANY's Multinational business, operational and legal teams to structure and implement the reinsurance aspects of complex multinational programs around the world. Partnering with senior GI executives to enhance reinsurance governance. Drafting and negotiating reinsurance and collateral documentation to implement captive reinsurance programs globally. Working closely with COMPANY attorneys around the world to address legal, regulatory and compliance issues of all types related to reinsurance matters.
Qualifications: Juris Doctor required; U.S. state bar admission (NY preferable). Minimum of 4+ years of legal experience (6+ years preferred) with a law firm and/or in-house counsel. Experience with (re)insurance matters and (re)insurance-related corporate transactions preferred. Demonstrated experience advising senior business partners/clients on complex reinsurance or other insurance transactional matters within aggressive timeframes. Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments in a fast paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively with peers and internal clients across a global organization as well as independently. Experience in the insurance industry is required.
