Employment Counsel Duties: Be the primary employment law contact for HR clients and business leaders; Advise on employee relations issues including performance management, investigations, and separations; Develop and refine global processes and policies such as corrective active procedures, accommodation request reviews, and workplace practices; Review and revise written HR policies and templates including region-specific handbooks, invention assignment agreements, and separation documents; Handle pre-litigation and agency charges by engaging with opposing counsel to seek possible resolution and support the business and HR clients in navigating pre-litigation; Work with outside counsel or other service providers to address and resolve issues; Maintain an understanding of basic and complex employment law principles; Help develop and deliver training and guidance to employees on employment issues, best practices, and company policies; Collaborate and partner effectively across teams and within the Legal team across international office locations to provide excellent client service in a high volume and fast-paced environment; and Support general business operations and complete special projects.
Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school and an active member of a state Bar. 4+ years of relevant legal experience. Prior in-house experience preferred. Experience with various employment matters, including employee relations issues, handbooks and other documentation, statutory research, and dispute resolution. Ability to analyze problems and recommend practical solutions that balance legal and business risks. Experience developing cross-functional partnerships. Service and business-oriented mentality. Ability to operate successfully in an environment that places a high premium on execution and teamwork.
