Corporate Counsel Duties: Draft and review all other commercial contracts, vendor agreements, manufacturing and distribution agreements, releases, advertisement contracts, and licensing agreements. Assist with the implementation and development of corporate compliance programs, including providing employee training, creating policy documents, etc. Support litigation needs by assisting with discovery, conducting interviews, finding and review documents, editing briefs, and developing legal strategy. Advise HR and represent the company on employment connected legal issues including discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, ADA, unemployment appeals, EEOC, etc. Research new legal matters and counsel the business. Assist with internal corporate investigations.
Qualifications: JD Degree and 5+ years related experience. Graduate of an ABA accredited Law School. Member in good standing of a State Bar or the District of Columbia. Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
