Counsel, Payor Contracts The candidate will draft, revise, review, and negotiate agreements with third party payors, physician organizations, networks, and governmental entities. Educate and train business partners on legal issues related to contracts and negotiations. Serve as subject matter expert on legal issues arising from payor contracts, including value-based arrangements. Draft legal correspondence such as settlement demands, termination notices, and dispute letters related to payor arrangements. Review, research, and assist with matters before state regulatory bodies, such as Departments of Insurance. Provide advice and counsel on a variety of contracting and transactional matters related to payor contracts, operations, statutory compliance, and reimbursement related issues. Research and interpret applicable laws and regulations to provide guidance to the company. Perform due diligence review of contractual requirements related to potential corporate transactions. As needed, provide subject matter expertise and guidance to Litigation team. Assist with special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned. Reads and abides by the company's code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs.

The candidate should have a Licensed attorney holding a J.D. from a top-tier law school with at least 3-5 years of related experience within a healthcare environment. Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state. Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Legal Research Tools (i.e. LexisNexis) and Matter Management/eBilling Software. Working knowledge and understanding of payor arrangements. Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating payor arrangements. High-level analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail and strong project management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage a variety of projects simultaneously, meet aggressive deadlines and successfully handle urgent situations with patience and diplomacy. Ability to build credibility quickly and provide strong legal support for a complex and challenging business, while positively and successfully managing relationships within a diverse group of stakeholders. A commitment to personal and professional growth, and receptivity to feedback. Experience working for a health insurance company. Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
