Senior Corporate Counsel The candidate will be handling employment matters and disputes, including issues involving state and federal discrimination claims, disability and leave laws, internal investigations, policy development, personnel decisions including discipline and discharge issues, and data and trade secrets issues. Will be serving as a trusted legal advisor to Human Resources and other stakeholders on all areas of employment law. Handling potential and active litigation, including investigations and fact development, managing outside counsel and relationships with insurers where necessary and providing appropriate strategic direction, and handling certain matters personally. Handling compulsory requests for information, including where the Company is a third party to litigation or government investigations, along with depositions. Managing discovery, including litigation holds and requests to preserve information, as well as other processes and procedures to increase efficiency of the team. Legal research, writing, and drafting. Real estate document drafting, contractual review, and associated diligence. Assist with intellectual property and trade secrets issues. Working closely with management and business partners on a variety of matters impacting a growing healthcare IT company. Other general legal matters to be assigned as Company needs warrant.
The candidate should have Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor's degree. Must be Admitted to Bar in Massachusetts (or other relevant jurisdiction depending on location) with 5-8 years of general litigation experience, and a demonstrated focus on employment law. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate concisely to a variety of audiences.
