Lead Counsel I - Regulatory Compliance

Lead Counsel I, Regulatory Compliance Duties: Providing legal advice and counsel to the company to enhance and maintain initiatives on a range of legal, business and compliance matters, including, ESG, and risk management,, as well as ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements. Identifying, prioritizing, and managing risks to the company by engaging and assisting in risk assessments and audit counseling. Reviewing and advising on agreements with various parties to ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and corporate requirements. Developing best practices and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Successfully collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited law school and 6 years ? experience in law. 2 years ? experience leading cross-functional teams. 5+ years' prior experience in government, in-house, and private practice. Familiarity with global programs and regulations applicable to Walmart's activities, including: corporate compliance programs, risk assessment processes, and/or experience with US federal and state regulatory regimes in areas such as OSHA, EPA, Trade, Consumer Protection or Product Safety. Process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness. Strong communication skills and experience with senior leadership and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: License to practice law in at least one state.
